Hello and Welcome!

mental illness, Christian, God, faith, bipolar disorder, bible verses, writing

My name is Cavelle. Pleased to meet you!

Mental Break – In Progress was originally created as a therapeutic outlet for me after receiving a diagnoses of Bipolar 2 Disorder. My life has evolved so much since then and writing has slowly but surely helped me to develop my voice and give me a sense of purpose.

I write about many things however, you will note a few repeated themes –

One of course being mental illness but also-

My walk with God. ❤

I went through a dark time in my life in which I turned my back to Him. I was in the throws of a mental illness I didn’t know I had and yet God has seen me through it all despite that.

Move to present day and my faith is stronger than ever. At this point in my life, I refuse to let go of that faith.

For a little comic relief, you will read little notes here and there about the adventures of being a hotel night auditor. I love my job and I love to write in the wee hours of the morning so the majority of my posts are created right here in the quiet of an empty hotel lobby lol sounds lonely but I love it.

I’m a night owl, an introvert and like many introverts out there, I express myself best through my writing. God made sure to provide me with a job that would allow me lots of time to pursue my passion. God is awesome like that 😉

10 random notes about me –

  1. I love ketchup on my steak…some of you are cringing right now I’m sure lol

  2. I’m a gamer…I love MMORPG’s and currently, I am obsessed with Elder Scrolls Online.

  3. I’m a December baby (Dec 28th) and I have thought about creating a support group for those of us who have been robbed of our special day due to Christmas lol

  4. My favorite season is Fall ❤

  5. I used to work in the floral industry and love making bouquets as a hobby.

  6. I’m punctual to a fault. If I am 15 minutes early I consider myself late.

  7. I have an OCD quirk. The volume on the TV always has to be on an odd number. I have no idea why.

  8. I love psychology and researching the subject. I love to learn. ❤ Especially when it comes to learning about what makes us humans tick.

  9. Speaking of psychology, I love the Myers Briggs test! If you don’t know what that is then you have take this test. Well, you don’t have to but I strongly encourage it! If you have ever wondered which personality type you are, the Myers Briggs test is the one to take. Here, I will even leave you a link it’s that good lol  16Personalities.com  I’m an INFP. For fun, feel free to let me know what your results are in the comments section. 🙂

  10. Last but not least, I have the honor of being a published writer. I currently write articles for Canadian Florist Magazine . A florist friend of mine knew of my blog and encouraged me to respond to a call out for writers. I didn’t think I was good enough for that but as it turns out, the magazine thought otherwise. I have been writing articles for Canadian Florist over a year now and I love it. If you care to visit, I write articles for the “Life at Work” section 🙂

Anyway, that’s me in a nutshell…Oh wait! One more thing! I have a wonderful (insert hundreds of positive adjectives here) husband. I thank God every day that He brought us together. ❤

My husband and I raise four cats as our children – Charlie, Miss Belle, Pork Chop and T-Bone.

I love our little family. ❤

In closing, I don’t know where my blog will ultimately take me but all I know is that I am going to write my way through life because I know of no other way I would rather do it! I look forward to crossing paths with you in the process. ❤

Take Care & God Bless ❤
